Our Meats
Grass-Fed Beef
We raise our beef from birth to finish and buy calves from partner farms. This means that we can assure our customers that Rainy Knob Ranch steers are 100% grass-fed and finished and are never fed grain or given antibiotics or hormones. Our cows are rotationally grazed, meaning that we move them from holistically-managed pasture to pasture, allowing them to forage on a wide variety of grasses and forbes.
Each steer has its own unique flavor from the grasses it eats. We harvest each steer at an age and body condition to ensure intramuscular marbling and natural tenderness. They are dry-aged 10-14 days to enhance the natural flavor and tenderness before being butchered and frozen to capture that exceptional flavor and quality. Our beef can be bought by the cut or by the quarter, half, or whole.

Grass-Fed Lamb
The sheep we raise are Katahdins, a “hair” sheep that sheds its hair and does not require shearing. Because these sheep have been bred for meat, not wool, the meat quality is mild and exceptional. We raise our sheep rotationally on pasture from birth to finish. No grain or hormones are fed, ever. Our lamb can be bought by the cut or by half or whole.

Pasture-Raised Pork
The meat flavor from a pasture-raised pig is nothing like the bland flavor of most store-bought pork. Although we no longer farrow (pig birthing) the pigs we raise, we do buy our feeder piglets from local farmers and raise them rotationally on pasture and woods, supplementing with non-GMO grains. The meat is rose colored, juicy, and tender! Our pork can be bought by the cut or by half or whole.

Pasture & Browse-Raised Goat
Most people in the western world don’t think about goat as being a meat animal, but it is delicious! Goat meat is a lean, red meat that is lower in calories, total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol than lamb, pork, beef, turkey, and chicken. We raise Spanish Meat goats. Like our lamb, they are rotationally raised on pasture and browse. Our goat can be bought by the cut or by half or whole.
